Giveaway – Chocomize $25 Gift Certificate – 2 Winners – Ends 1/26/10
This site is amazing!!!! Chocomize will create a custom chocolate bar exactly how you want it!
The bars are made with high quality Belgian chocolate – you can choose dark, milk or white. And then you get to choose from over 80 additions – fruit, nuts, candy…. The options are very fun. They have the usuals and a lot of creative additions. If you are feeling overwhelmed or need a little guidance, you can use one of their ideas or you can let your imagination run free.
The site was totally easy to navigate. You could have your bar ordered very quickly. The only reason mine took awhile to order is because there were so many choices that it took me some time to be sure that I had made the most perfect bars ever.
And the prices are MUCH lower than I would have expected for gourmet chocolate even if it hadn’t been customized. The base price of the bars is only $3.85 and the price of the additions varies. The dark chocolate was good enough that I would have paid more than $3.85 for a plain bar.
First, Son #2 created a semi-normal bar: dark chocolate, hazelnuts, ground coffee and coffee beans. Just for fun, we added 23k gold flakes to make it pretty. The gold adds $3.95 to the price, so this bar cost a little more – $9.90. But it was worth it! The flavor was great and we liked having the texture of both ground and whole coffee beans. If I were ordering this one again for myself, I’d probably skip the gold, but including it made this a very giftable bar.
Then, I created my most special chocolate bar – the one in the picture is my actual bar. (warning – this is a more unique bar, but oh my goodness was it delicious!). I love dark chocolate and I love bacon. When I saw that they had bacon as an option, I just knew I had to combine 2 of my favorite things. My bar contained: dark chocolate, roasted pistachios, macadamia nuts, walnuts and bacon. The combination of flavors made me happy happy happy. Even my teenagers who said they were grossed out by the idea of bacon in chocolate, loved it. They finished off my bar that I thought I had hidden to savor and enjoy later. It was delicious as is, but I’m thinking next time I would order dark chocolate with several side orders of bacon! The price for this bar was just $6.55.
All of the ingredients were very fresh. And the bars looked so pretty – just like the ones on the site. They shipped quickly and included little cold packs to keep them fresh and unmelted.
