Ian Rankin has written oodles of smart thrillers, but I only recently discovered his work. Doors Open is an excellent addition to my growing Ian Rankin collection. I always love an intelligent crime thriller – and he does a great job giving it all a very real feel. The characters and the actions they choose are interesting as are the plot twists that will leave you wondering what’s going to happen next.
