Quirk Classics has published (and is in the process of publishing) some very clever and very entertaining mash ups – classic novels with a whole new twist. I just finished up the giveaway for their other Jane Austen – Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. I enjoyed that one, but this one is my favorite. I find the whole thing to be hilarious!
I know that many of you said that you have already read this book. If you’ve only read the original version, you’ll still want to check out the Deluxe Heirloom version. It isn’t just a pretty new cover on the same book – “The Deluxe Heirloom Edition features 30% MORE ZOMBIES! Seth has written pages and pages of all-new (and entirely gratuitous) ultra-violent zombie mayhem.” There are also new beautiful (and sometimes bloody) illustrations – color oil paintings. I’m laughing all over again looking at the illustrations.

HEADS UP – Keep your eyes open for an upcoming movie version of this entertaining novel. In the meantime, you’ll want to read the book a time or two.

I know that it says that Jane Austen + Zombies = Classic Novel. Well, this seems like an oxymoron to me. I would really find it interesting to read a book where the original classic novel has been changed to include Zombies as part of the story line.
