Ian Rankin has written other crime suspense novels in his Inspector Rebus series, but this was the first for me. I can see why he’s got a pile of best sellers under his belt. His attention to detail in the development of the characters and the plot is great – makes for a fun read. The book stands alone, if you haven’t read his other novels – but I’m thinking it would be fun to read the others, too.
