Story: Now you can kick off all-star family fun with the heartwarming Air Bud: Golden Receiver Special Edition, featuring exclusive all-new bonus action: Sports Channel play-by-play quarterbacked by the Buddies! This time out, Buddy, the hoop-shooting, hotshot canine, tackles a new sport—football. When his teenage owner reluctantly becomes the school’s new quarterback, Buddy catches the spirit and joins the team. Soon, the two find themselves leading the Timberwolves to the state championship. But victory hopes are sidelined when two sinister Russian circus owners take a bite out of everyone’s plans and dognap Buddy for their star attraction. This dvd was originally released back in 1998 and has now been repackaged with some new bonus features and a cool toy – a dog whistle necklace.

The story is cute and has some heartwarming tender moments. You’ll just have to overlook the totally unrealistic idea that it would be ok for a dog to participate in a tackle football game. Playing catch with a football – yes. Playing football with scary teenagers who tackle – no.

If you have a dog or if your child wants a dog, chances are good that they will be fantasizing about how fun it would be for their dog to wear a football jersey and pads and play on a team! Oh. And they would probably like to have a puppy that talks, too.

The Bonus Feature that is exclusive to this special edition dvd is really cute. It features those little talking buddies as they do a play by play report of the game.
