Giveaway – Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods – 2 Winners – Ends 2/13/10

February 5, 2010

Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods
Eat it. Share it. Live it. Love it.

About: It all began with an idea and a passion during the mid 1980’s in the Merrimack Valley, about 35 miles north of Boston. Founder Abe Hanna’s passion was for Mediterranean foods. His idea was to put these healthy and great tasting foods into the mouths of everyday American people. Noticing the lack of Mediterranean foods in local grocery stores, the Cedar’s family knew it had a mission to fulfill.

Well, I am very happy that the Cedar family took on this mission! Their healthy foods taste great and most can be enjoyed with little or no preparation – so nice to have a quick meal or snack that is good for me.

Cedars makes a variety of flavors in the following product lines:

  • Hommus
  • Tzatziki
  • Spinach Dip
  • Mexicana Gold Salsa
  • Feta Spread
  • Wraps
  • Mediterranean Salads
  • Halva
  • Snack Packs
  • Pita Chips

My family loves hommus as a snack or part of a meal. We usually eat it on flat bread or crackers. It’s food that we feel good eating. I was happy to see all the fun flavor options that Cedar’s offers. We loved the Artichoke Kalmata,Garlic Lovers and Original Tahini Hommus. And I think we’ll try the Cilantro or Horseradish next.

Their fresh Mediterranean salads looked delicious when I saw them in the deli case at the grocery store. My teens aren’t usually big on salads, so I was surprised when my son told me he wanted to try the Taboule. I thought he would take a bite and then let me finish it. But nooooo…. he ate the whole thing!  I’m glad I got to try a bite before he finished it off. It was very fresh and the flavor was excellent.

My grocery store doesn’t carry their chocolate Halva yet (I’m putting in a request!), but I am really looking forward to trying it.
