About: Our socks are manufactured near Milan in Northern Italy, by a second generation family operation, which is regarded as one of the finest sock artisans in the world. We use the highest quality of yarns for your socks that are available in the marketplace. The workmanship is unrivalled. With each new shipment of yarn, 3 pair of “test” socks are produced and tested for chafing, color-fastness and durability before the entire yarn shipment is used. Each test pair is washed and worn at least 20 times to make sure the yarn quality is superb. If the test socks do not pass the test, the yarn is sent back to the mill. The socks are dyed in certified Oekotex colors to make sure the dye will not harm your skin. The final product is then knitted as one piece, sewn together in the upper-toe area and ironed.

These socks are fabulous! And they are made by sock artisans! In Milan!  This is the first I’ve heard of ’sock artisans’ and I am impressed.

The socks are available in several different styles. We got to try out their best selling calf socks. They are really soft and my son says they are very comfortable. There is a huge difference between these high quality socks and discount store socks. And the pricing is very reasonable – much lower than I expected! You can purchase individual socks or sign up for a sockscription and have fresh socks delivered throughout the year.

One of my favorite features of the socks is that they come in different sizes. Most men’s socks are made to cover a broad range of feet. This is ok, if you have an average foot. If your foot is smaller or larger, ‘one size fits all’ doesn’t really fit. Black socks are available in 5 sizes – from a size 5 up to a size 13 1/2. My younger son got the largest ones and they fit great without feeling too tight.

Black Socks isn’t just limited to socks – they also carry underwear and shirts with subscriptions available. My older son got to try out an incredibly soft round-neck tee. The seems are smooth and flat there’s no scratchy tag at the neck. He says it’s comfortable on his skin and it looks great.
