McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds

My family loves playing games and I always enjoy trying out new ones. Our favorite games are ones that use our brains and make us laugh – and it’s even better if the game can be played by a variety of ages. McNeill Designs games do all that!

You've Been Sentenced Family GameYou’ve Been Sentenced

About: The latest in the evolution of games, “You’ve been Sentenced!” is the first game in history to really turn making sentences into a very funny, playable, and challenging game. Using a unique word deck of pentagon shaped cards containing conjugations of funny words, famous names from throughout history, familiar places, and wild cards, players have to make grammatically correct and justifiable sentences. The real fun begins when players have to read their sentences out loud and explain what they mean to the rest of players. They form the jury and vote thumbs up or down on whether the sentence and justification stand and the points are scored. 540 cards with over 2,500 words insure billions of possible sentences so the game is never repetitive and has unlimited re-play value.

This game instantly became a family favorite – I always laugh til my stomach hurts. It’s recommended for ages 8 & up and might work for a younger child with good reading skills. And it’s for 3-10 players, but we’ve done it with 2, my guys have played with the cards alone and I intend to try it with more than 10 the next time my extended family gets together.

This is a game that can be played over and over again without feeling repetitive – each round is as different as the imaginations of the players. And it is definitely good for the brain – whether you’re a kid or an adult.

You've Been Sentenced Add-On Card DecksThe 540 cards that come with the game will provide hours and hours and hours of fun. They also have extra add-on decks with words based on different themes: Pop Culture, Gourmet Cuisine, Reader’s Digest National Word Power Challenge, Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Sports Highlights.

My guys’ favorite is the Sci-Fi/Fantasy deck. It also includes some horror and my guys were amazed at the fun words that were included from their favorite authors and movies. I’m especially looking forward to some Reader’s Digest Word Power fun with my extended family.

Twisted Fish Card GameTwisted Fish

About: 13 unique Fish characters in five different colors, plus 8 unique “Zingers” that allow you to break the rules, makes “Twisted Fish” a unique game experience. The real challenge takes place when asking for the fish cards you are collecting—Now you have to be specific about the type of fish and color you are seeking. “Twisted Fish” challenges you to remember every question asked at the table. It is challenging and fun right down to the very last card!

This one is like the traditional go-fish, but has a lot more to it. It can be challenging enough for for adults and can also be enjoyed by kids. If you want to play with young kids, it’s easy enough to adjust the rules to work for players with different memory skills. The illustrations on the cards are fun and the game can be enjoyed by a few people or a bigger group. It really is much more than Go Fish.

Wheel of Chore-ture

Wheel of Chore-ture

This is MY favorite game of all!!!!  I am happy to let my kids play this every single day!!! They just spin the wheel and do whatever it says – wash the dishes, sweep the floors, feed the pets, do the dishes …. What fun!!!!!
