A Smarter Way To Enjoy Soda
Months ago when I first heard about Soda Stream, my initial thought was that I do not need any more kitchen appliances. But then I looked at it a little more, and thought that it would be something fun ‘for the kids.’ And then I looked at it more, and thought that I might enjoy it, too.
And now? Now that I have a Soda Stream Fountain Jet? I am kicking myself for not jumping on the Soda Stream bandwagon months ago, because this thing is FABULOUS!!!!!!
When our beautiful black and silver Fountain Jet arrived, I gave the box to my mechanical teenager to ‘put the machine together’ and figure out how to use it. When he realized how utterly easy it is, he laughed at me (it’s ok – I laughed at me, too). Within moments, we had fresh, homemade tasty soda. It was that easy.
There are a bunch of different flavors available and it’s really easy to adjust them to get just the right flavor and the right amount of fizz to suit your tastes. My older son’s first favorite was the Energy Drink – full amount of flavor and lots of bubbles. My younger son’s fave is Ginger Ale – 3/4 of the recommended flavor and medium bubbles. And mine is the Cranberry- Raspberry – 1/2 flavor, light on the bubbles.
And – there is NO high fructose corn syrup in the regular flavors and NO aspartame in the diet flavors. WooHoo!
They also have an unsweetened My Water Flavor Essence that is tasty. It’s so easy to make soda when we want it, exactly how we want it.
And – biggie for the environment – NO bottles to recycle! (which also means that plastic bottles were never created for me either – much better to NOT use plastic bottles than to recycle them). And the CO2 tank? They have an exchange program so it can be re-filled and re-used.

OMG this has so many entries but I want to win the most! =) What I would like to comment on about the sodastream website is the red genesis which is super cute, and the adorable little blond girl in the purple shirt with cherry red lips sipping on a straw. She’s so cute!!!
