Giveaway – Duraflame Stax – 2 Winners – Ends 1/28/10

Duraflame Stax Logs
The Next Generation of Fire
Duraflame Stax are similar to other Duraflame logs, but are more like the best of both worlds. They are easy to use like the Duraflame logs and also have a more realistic ‘real wood’ look and feel as they burn. As the name implies, they are stackable and they are shaped like split firewood, so they have a more natural charred look as they burn. They also make that warm and inviting crackling sound.
Stax are made from renewable resources – recycled wood fiber and non-petroleum based bio-waxes and plant oils – hooray! I’m especially happy that they are non-petroleum based.
For me, the main feature that I think of when I hear ‘Duraflame’ is that their products are easy to use. The new Stax definitely lived up to Duraflame’s reputation. When I first asked my teenager to try them out, his reply was ‘Just this? No kindling?’ He just put 2 of the Stax logs into the fireplace and they lit instantly – no trouble at all and no kindling or other accelerant.
Stax burn longer than wood, so they take up less storage space. You can use them in a fireplace, wood stove or outdoors. They’d be great to pack when you’re camping to save on space and mess.
Here’s a video that has some additional information about Stax and about fire safety.
DEAL ALERT – Duraflame often posts coupon deals on their website and Facebook page. The package that I received had a $3 ‘use now’ coupon on the outside and a $5 off coupon inside for future purchases – your package may vary, but that’s what I found!
HOW TO CONNECT - You can fan Duraflame on Facebook.
PRIZE ALERT – Duraflame would like to give 2 of you a voucher for a set of 3 Stax Logs (ARV $10)

When manufactured fireplaces were first introduced to the market, the UL-Certification Tests for those appliances did not address the use of firelogs in these fireplaces. Consequently, the earlier manufactured fireplaces were sold with stickers recommending only natural firewood be used. Now that most brands of firelogs have been UL-Classified for safe use in zero-clearance fireplaces, most fireplace manufacturers have begun to change their product labels and warranty information allowing the use of UL-Classified solid fuels, such as duraflame® firelogs.
