Adventure City Located at 1238 S Beach Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92804, is a small, unspoiled by large media, amusement park not far from the 405, 22 and I5 freeways in Southern CA. I had seen it in passing, previously but this was our first visit. The facility is easy to find as well as easy, on sight parking, near to the entryway.
The staff was helpful and friendly and mainly seem to be very family oriented with many family members working on site.
We arrived at ten am and their were a couple school groups and many random families walking about enjoying themselves. The wait for each ride was short, maybe twenty minutes for each maximum and everyone seemed patient in line with the many things to see, in the way of colorful displays and wall murals, and interesting folks, to watch.
We began with the train as it tours the perimeter of the park and offered a good insight as to what we were in for and assisted in our creating a plan of action! We all loved the way the station was set up as a real train station with luggage to boot!
The park is clean and well kept and there are many rides to choose from providing entertainment for the young and the old. Adventure city also felt very safe in a pleasant, joyful, nurturing kind of way, as if we had been invited to a close family or friends home with an awesome, back yard, chock full of imagination.
Freeway Coaster got our adrenaline rushing and the kids chose to go on it a second time, laughing all the way. After that they were eager to explore our way toward the new ride!
The farm animals along the route were a calming experience and helped set the tone for a longer wait in line at the next stop but the new Rewind Coaster is well worth the minutes in line! The bright orange tracks are unusually silent and calming but the ride itself leaves one with a sense of elation like many another! We would definitely all do this again.
In the words of my elementary aged children, who came running toward me at the wait point with big smiles, on exit of their third ride, stating in unison,
“I loved how it went backward and forward! The ride was awesome!”
The Drop Zone was a big hit with my son, and there were many other rides to choose from and to experience the rest of the day on a more extended visit or another visit entirely.
The high point of Adventure City? We could say it was the train and traveling through the tunnels, or the joy felt on the roller coasters, the play area with train tracks to assemble or the beautiful old fashioned merry go round… or the animals. But in my book, Id say the cloud room, where we went to cool off, on arrival and pre departure was the most unique and memorable experience we have had in a very long time.
