About: Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

My family has an appreciation for a wide variety of music. I have taken the teens to live shows ranging from classical ballets to Ozz Fest. There is a time and place for different types of music and it’s important for a child’s development to get them started at a young age.

Music Together has classes for babies, preschoolers and bigger kids at locations around the country. Special needs children are welcome in any of the classes and specialized classes are also offered with music therapists. The interactive classes look like lots of fun for the children and parents.

They have produced a lovely selection of CDs, so that you and your children can enjoy Music Together at home and on the go.

There are 2 Family Favorites CDs that contain sweet versions of classic children’s songs that are familiar and some that may be new to you. Overall, they are upbeat and perky without being too wild. Kids can happily enjoy them without getting out of control. Music Together also has a nice selection of instruments to help even small children get involved with the music.

My favorite of the CDs is Lullabies. Yes, I who thoroughly enjoyed seeing Ozzy Osbourne in concert also enjoy Music Together Lullabies. The music is pretty and soothing. It’s perfect to play before bed or to simply have on in the background while children are playing quietly. It helps create a peaceful environment that is good for the soul.

There are 18 tracks on the CD. Here are a few of my favorites:

• My Bonnie
• Brahms’ Lullaby
• Russian Folk Song
• The Water is Wide

The individual songs have distinct styles, but they all blend together well. The vocals are sung by men, women and children, so there is a nice variety. It’s easy to listen to the CD over and over again.

Each of the songs is beautiful. Infants, older kids and adults can all appreciate this lovely CD.
