About: Bagnetic was founded in 2009 by a young entrepreneur, Ryan Bautista. Having travelled extensively, he noticed that litter from plastic bags was commonplace in most countries. Research into the plastic bag dilemma revealed that less than 1% of them are recycled worldwide.  The vast majority end up in landfills, oceans or as litter, costing tax payers millions of dollars and harming valuable ecosystems. There are a lot of bags to choose from. I thought I had seen just about everything, but then I was introduced to Bagnetic.

These bags are unique and have added functionality that had me wondering why someone didn’t invent these years ago.

Have you ever gone to the store and had the clerk or bagger subtly (or not so subtly) glare at you for bringing your own bags? Has a customer in line behind you given you stink eye when it was obvious that the reusables take longer to open up and fill? The metal rings on the handles are magnetic. They stick together when you carry them or if you hang them up on your refrigerator. They are also sized just perfectly to be used with those standard metal racks. Just hand the stack to the checker who can slide them right onto the rack. They can then be opened and filled one by one. This is just as fast as plastic and oh so much better for the earth!

The bags are reasonably priced and sold either in sets of 2 or as a family pack that includes:

The bags are lead free and brightly colored with AZO Chemical Free Dye. Each one can safely hold up to 40 pounds. They can be washed by hand or machine when necessary.

The produce bags are a great substitute for the plastic bags provided in stores. They’re made from a mesh fabric that will hold up to 15 pounds. There is a drawstring close and clerks can easily see what you’re buying right through the mesh.

The hook is a great way to carry your bags without cutting off the circulation in your fingers. The clip is easy to use and the soft grip is very comfortable. They say it will hold up to 150 pounds, but I don’t intend to try to carry that much at once!

These innovative products will help make it more convenient to reduce our plastic consumption!
