Giveaway – Beecology Shampoo and Conditioner – 3 Winners – Ends 7/27/10

Nature’s Solution to Extraordinary Bath & Body

About: About four years ago a co-worker of mine asked if he could put a beehive at my family farm. I said yes, thinking I would bear no responsibility, but (here it comes) after two weeks his wife became pregnant and he told me he couldn’t tend to them. I was a beekeeper by default. At first I couldn’t believe I would be taking care of bees, but I soon became fascinated with bee culture and science. I started to learn about bees and attended workshops at The Ohio State University agricultural campus. Beyond enjoying the science of bees, just the act of tending to bees gave me time to reflect. It became a very cathartic activity. And I started to realize that the world of bees imitated our life on earth. The tiniest changes in the environment are reflected in the bees’ environment, which led me to think about the foods we eat and the chemicals we use and the impact these outside factors have on bees and on us. These small revelations made me want to make products from bees that are better for us than what our mothers and fathers have been using. Products as natural as I can make them without sacrificing quality and the safety of our customers. From that came the idea of “Beecology” and its charitable arm, SweetYear.

Bees are fascinating little creatures and I am thankful for the honey they make and their part in the environmental circle of life!

Beecology creates some wonderful, natural bath and body products – shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, creams, balms. Products can be purchased individually or as an assortment in a gift basket.

I got to try out their shampoo and conditioner and my hair is happy!  My hair is very fine – heavy hair products coat my hair and leave it limp, harsh products strip the already fine hair and leave it looking unhealthy – not so with Beecology!!!  My hair is totally clean, not weighted down and it looks and feels great.

Honey and Botanical Sulfate-Free Shampoo

Hooray! No sulfates!!! The shampoo contains honey, aloe vera, chamomile, yarrow and other ingredients. It lathers up quickly and rinses out easily. I could tell it was doing a good job in the shower the very first time I tried it. It has a very mild botanical scent – something that is perfectly appropriate for men and women.

Repair Your Hair Naturally Conditioner

Again – a fabulous product with immediate results. I’m not really sure what exactly this means, but  it contains “premium propolis extract from beehives, which is loaded with flavonoids to stimulate hair growth and noticeably renew your hair’s youthful appearance”. Whatever that is, it’s helping my hair look and feel great. It also has honey (of course!) and avocado and hemp oils, that help my hair look and feel naturally hydrated.
