Giveaway – Flat Iron Experts BaByliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron – 5/26/10

Flat Iron Experts

I am thoroughly enjoying the KQC Flat Iron that I got from Flat Iron Experts. They have a great selection of high quality flat irons and include information and tutorials to help me get the look I want.

But …. even though their name is Flat Iron Experts, they are also experts with other hair tools. This time around I got to try out a curling iron.

And here is my confession – until now, I have never ever owned a curling iron. I’ve had long hair most of my life and made it through the Farrah Fawcett 70′s and the Big Hair 80′s without a curling iron. I think I may have gotten scared off by my friends’ curling iron burns and damaged hair from those earlier 1970′s curling irons.  Fortunately, curling irons have come a long way and I am now the happy owner of a BaByliss Pro BABC150SC Ceramic Curling Iron.

About: The Babyliss Ceramic Curling iron is one model back of the #2 Ranking Babyliss Tourmaline Curling Iron, the main difference between the two is the Ceramic Version heats up to 390 F vs 428 F from the Tourmaline version. For 90% the individuals, the 390 F is more than enough, we would recommend the Tourmaline Model only for people who have really thick unmanageable hair. The other obvious difference is the Ceramic vs Tourmaline argument, Both Ceramic and Tourmaline Technology emits negative ions and far-infrared heat however they claim Tourmaline is suppose to emit MORE. Both model have the same benefits: 1. Eliminates static electricity 3. Neutralize odors
2. Preserve more moisture within the hair shaft 4. Causes less damage to the hair cuticle
We feel that the difference is not so much about Ceramic vs Tourmaline but the quality of the curling, they both come from the same company and the same factory therefore the quality would in this case be equal. The Babyliss Ceramic Curling iron is $15 cheaper, but does not heat up as hot however for 90% of the individuals that will not be a problem anyways. This iron also comes with a 2 year warranty and is also Dual Voltage meaning you can use it around the world. They are both really great curling irons, you can’t go wrong choosing either one!

This curling iron is amazingly easy for a newbie like me to use. I got the 1 1/2″ barrel and watched a couple of their tutorial videos before using it. It was really easy to follow the instructions and to get my hair to look like I wanted. The big curls are so much fun!

The curling iron heats up and is ready to use in just 30 seconds. The heat is even and can be adjusted to one of their 30 heat settings. The included chart recommended a lower heat setting for my fine hair. Those of you with coarser hair will want a higher setting. I love the swivel cord that doesn’t get tangled in my hair as I use it. It was quick and easy – only takes a few minutes to get my curls.

And …  NO facial or scalp burns and NO damaged frizzy hair for me. Hooray!!!!
