Passion On A Plate – Affordable and Easy Gourmet – by Angela McKeller

About the cookbook: Angela McKeller is bringing you a cookbook that is both fun and practical! Perfect for the most discriminating as well as the inexperienced cook. Ease, affordability, gourmet taste and utilizing practical kitchen gadgets makes this cookbook a great gift for college students, newlyweds and the experienced entertainer or simply to spoil yourself and those you love! With recipes for every occasion, focusing on “waste not, want not”, Angela is sure that this KookBook will be a treasured addition to ANY kitchen!

I love books and I love food, so it isn’t surprising that I’ve got a lot of cookbooks. And like many of you, I have some cookbooks that are mainly for reading or looking at the pictures. And then I have the other cookbooks that I actually use to create the recipes that are inside. Passion On A Plate is one of those cookbooks that is both fun to look at and fun to use!

Passion On A Plate has a very personal feel. It’s very obvious that the author is passionate about cooking and wants to help others experience the same joy in preparing, serving and consuming these wonderful dishes.

The book is organized into sections and each recipe is very easy to follow with gorgeous full color pictures. The instructions are simple and straight to the point – easy enough for a beginner or someone with skills. There are cute graphics and lots of helpful tips that apply to cooking in general, not just to the specific recipes.

Most of the recipes have short ingredient lists that contain basic items that I either already have on hand or are easy to find. They’re easy to prepare and will feel special and gourmet without requiring a mad search for ingredients or tears when the recipes end up being too difficult to follow.

The Chocolate Hazelnut Lava Cake that the author prepared with Paula Deen on the Food Network looks amazing – and the ingredients and instructions are much simpler than other lava cake recipes I’ve seen and been too intimidated to try.

The steamed broccoli with allspice? Amazingly simple and delicious! I can’t wait to try some of the other recipes, too.
